Why Gift Giving Is A Win-Win, A Guest Blog

Kindness is Paramount in life.

It really is. We all need to feel loved, appreciated, thought of and special.

It is human nature.

And to be kind to others is one of the most important aspects of life. Being kind to others makes you feel wonderful. It makes you feel human, and it brings out the best in both you and the person who is on the receiving end of your kindness.

It is a win win situation to be kind and to receive someone’s kindness.

Gift giving is a form of kindness. A gift to a loved one, family member, friend, co worker or anyone that makes your world a brighter place is amazing.

The person receiving the gift feels appreciated, loved and special. You feel amazing because YOU have made someone else feel AMAZING.

No one loses in gift giving. It promotes feelings of well being and prompts you to do it again and also the receiver to pay it forward.

The result is everyone spreading love and kindness. We all, and the world around us, need to feel and experience the gift of being kind and receiving kindness, it really does matter.

I agree with Tracey. Although gift-giving is (normally) an altruistic act, it does have positive impacts on your own well-being. I've really felt this double benefit over the last year of global disruption that has affected us all. There were friends and family members I would have loved to spend time with when they were feeling a bit low. Because I wasn't able to see them in person, I sent a 'hug in a box' instead. None of the gifts were expensive. The value for them came from letting them know someone was thinking of them. And for me, choosing a gift made me feel like I was doing something practical to help. In a way it helped to lower my feelings of helplessness at the situation, and it definitely gave my feel-good hormones a boost.

This is how Tracey at It's The Little Things can help you to help someone else to feel loved.

Tracey's business is still in its early stages, so if you'd like to show her the gift of kindness, please take a look at her website. It features some of our Salt & Oil products, which you can combine with other treats to suit the person you're thinking of.

No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.
